Post a mix and a tracklisting and let it stand on its own merit. If people dont respond with feedback it can be a pain in the ass but if you bitch about it you discredit yourself and no one cares to give a listen next time around. Besides dont you have mixes featured on Magazines and shit? Let them tell you how good your mixes are.

Whoa dude, kinda jumpin the gun no? She doesn't even really need our petty approval, hahahahaha, since the mag already picked up on it!!! like u say.
No need to be rude tho Joe-that mix is killer, if it wasn't they certainly wouldn't be printing it in DJ Vibe!! Thats so cool Dar~Congratulations!! Sooooooo exciting!! You should be proud of yourself!
**edit; there's a difference between 'feedback' and constructive criticism. Specify what you didn't like so she can work on it, no?

Fuck sakes, now I look like an asshole. Here's what I was responding too, somehow I posted in the wrong thread....
"BTW: I love how the only time people comment about your mixes is when you ask for some criticism!
As soon as people get to voice their opinion they are ALL over that shit. Ha ha! BTW I have another mix out
one that I didn't record 5 minutes after buying a bunch of new music... I hope you'll all enjoy that one too!

Don't worry my ego wont get inflated if your mean or nice heh
Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far!"

Some people are good at pretending to be assholes, ;) usually u do it in a very humorous way, that I know it's mostly a joke :P And criticism is welcome I bet for her. But you kinda just seemed a little mean and you didn't specify what it was you weren't down with is all. I didn't mean to come off like a bitch or nothin (hope i didn't) cause it is important to hear negative feedback as well

Actually my main point is that I know where she is coming from with regards to not getting feedback to work thats been posted up. But, if you complain about it people will just be put off and wont bother listening the next time around. Like I said, if the mix is decent and has been recognized elsewhere, let it stand on that merit.

I've been pertty busy the last couple days so I haven't been on the board much. But I was readin through the threads and it just seemed like after her initial hard time with the negative criticism you jumped into that War of Legitimacy tirade which is totally unhelpful to everyone including you. I'm not trying to tear ya down joey, not at all, cause I'm sure you have very valid opinions and an ear for this kinda thing. It's just that it would be understandable for someone to need a day or so to soak in the negative feedback properly and her uncomfort seemed like it was met with a challenge of her skillz and some 'I am better than you' shit. I mean no offence tho joey just didn't seem helpful after the first couple posts

HAHAHAHA. I know you dont mean any offence, you seem to be a super positive person. And my post wasnt helpful, it is however, the way things are. And this is not just my perception, its just a lot of experience and can be affirmed by others with the same level of experience. My thoughts regarding legitimacy and or the validity of her work remain the same, and by the way, are shared by some very established members of the scene out there.

However, since returning the scene seems a bit....cliquey??...I don't know if I'm making sense but the only way I've managed to survive is by realizing I enjoy good music and all of it is equal opportunity. But I've gotten some oddball looks along the way, as I dance at 10 all alone lol! So I think everyone has their own 'ear' and depending they'll either like or hate something. I admit I haven't had a chance to listen to the other mix that started this whole thing :S but still she mentioned it was outta her norm and it seems like with the exception of Berbs and maybe crushproof noone had anything constructive...or maybe I'm just tired :P haha

skimmed through it, seems decent.at a few parts in the middle the sound quality is pretty shitty. But good flow.

In this one or the other? Yikes!
Definitely the other when i was listening to it in my ipod I thought it sounded weird at some points. I guess the Effects button was push... but it is this stupid effect at the top of the mixer... anywho, it made some parts sounds strange.
Or are you talking about the dnb mix?
Kim, you are a total sweet heart and you have a way with words. I love you :)

this mix(i would have posted in the other thread if i was talkin about that mix)..and not distorted sounding, just like it goes from really polished sounding to very dull. i just noticed this cause i was scanning through it. Might be time to invest in a mixer that actually sounds good. If your mixes are reaching a much larger audience now days, maybe its time to retire the behringer.

...this sounds like very 'sound' advise....And Dar hunny, I love you too! You are good people!! And you've been so kind to me over the last couple months, I absolutely truly appreciate it! Can't wait to come test out the rekkids!;)

I think it's time to put Old Yeller down too!
