Logic is confusing. Can anyone recommend another production suite and/or some guidance?

Why not just learn how to use it as opposed to finding another suite? Cubase is just as hard to learn. You could learn Reason, but once you grow out of it you'll be back at square one anyway. tbh, the user manual is the best resource for learning it. Its 100s of pages long and extremely thorough.

i learned more about ableton in 3 months then i did with cubase in a few years. Im still fluent with cubase, but as Komus said, its best just to learn Logic. Its an amazing piece of software and altho the learning curve is steep, it will pay off in the end... Learning keyboard shortcuts is key to working quickly.

There are very useful tutorial books that are used for the apple pro certification courses that you can buy, they are published by a company called peachpitpress.

This is for the latest version of Logic, Logic Studio 9. These books will be released end of November. If you are looking for something right now, they also have the books for Logic Studio 8 available..
